Cooperative Projects

Narnia Elementary School in Bratislava
Narnia Elementary School in Banska Bystrica is a church school that shares not only its name with Narnia School in Bratislava, but also the basic educational foundation. Our teachers regularly participate once a year in a teaching seminar, which is organized by Narnia Elementary School in Bratislava. In the future, we would like to improve our cooperation through some of the following ways: social activities for pupils, friendly competitions, and shared presentations of educational results. These possibilities are opening symmetrically with the growth of Narnia Elementary School in Banská Bystrica and the maturing of its pupils.

Róbert Tatár Private Primary Art School
Narnia operates with the art school in two ways: first, through the joint Creative English project; second, by providing art classes for students enrolled in our school club.  Since we are located in the same building, we also share each other’s facilities, didactic aids, musical instruments, and the loudspeaker system.

Mikuláš Kováč Municipal Library
We also share the building with Mikuláš Kováč Municipal library, which naturally creates a cooperation between our school and the library.  Our students participate in various events and competitions organized by the municipal library, as well as the library supporting school activities.   Thanks to the close cooperation and ease of accessibility to the library, the children have the possibility to independently develop the positive attitude towards reading and the ability to work with information.

Pedagogic and Psychological Advisement Facilities
Narnia offers its students a screening diagnosis and counseling from the school psychologist, the educational advisor, and the school special educator. As per the parents’ request or upon proposal of their request, a parent may contact the facility for educational advisement and prevention. The cooperation between the school and the center is present in the form of communication and feedback among the professionals, parents, and educators. On the basis of the tests, the employee from the center will inform the parents in a written letter and also the school about the findings and the other proposed steps. The school also communicates with the facility about the student’s integration with the special educational needs in the classroom.

Orange Foundation
The Orange Foundation has supported several of our projects via the Employee Grant Program. The projects were submitted in cooperation with Mr. Galica who is an employee of Orange Slovakia and the father of three students. In the 2010/2011 school year we implemented a project “Read with us.” Its aim was to modernize and improve the school library and to expand upon it with the creation of a new reading room. Our new project called „Lets do sport and relax together“ passed through and so thanks to the finantial help of Orange Foundation we have been able to buy some outside benches used both by children and their relatives. In the next stage we are planning to prepare a streetball playground for the children. We are really very happy that thanks to the help of the parents of our children we can prepare a better environment for relaxation and sport.

Children of Slovakia Foundation
In 2010, the Children of Slovakia Foundation supported our project “Let us learn together” with funds from Children’s Hour Grant program. The project was focused on the influence of new technologies and media for the children’s education. Its aim was to create a safe environment both at school and in families, where children and adults would be able to communicate openly and respectfully, to learn through experiences and common similarties. Both children and adults learnt to use the Internet while also learning to avoid the risks it brings.
